GAGE SETS TREND FOR AUTOMOTIVE PAINT RECYCLING

FERNDALE, Mich. – Gage Products Co. will outline its innovative paint solvent recovery program at a presentation to the West Michigan Tenth Annual Sustainable Business Conference and Expo in Grand Rapids, May 11-12.

Gage Product Company ’s presentation, called “Turning Waste into Raw Material,” is from 1-3 p.m. at the conference held at Grand Rapids Community College. The company’s “Sustainable Solutions” program also will be on display at Booth 10 at the conference.

The Gage system, developed over 18 years, has been used by Big Three automakers to safely recycle more than 70-million gallons of waste material since its inception in 1987. The system improves a company’s environmental footprint, reduces process costs and conserves natural resources. It monitors waste materials for waste-reduction opportunities and significantly reduces air-borne emissions.

“Concern for the environment is an important part of our business, and we are constantly applying new techniques to promote waste re-utilization and sustainable business solutions,” a Gage spokesman said. “We’re very pleased to be joining in this dialog with colleagues who continue to consider the environment in their business decisions.”

Gage solvent-management systems have helped its pharmaceutical, chemical and automotive customers save millions of dollars in costs and meet increasingly strict state and federal environmental standards.

The Sustainable Business Conference and Expo is being co-hosted by the Sustainable Business Forums of West, Southeast, Central, and Southwest Michigan and is presented by the West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, an affiliated program of the West Michigan Environmental Action Council. The Expo is designed to gather local business and academic communities with local government to promote business practices that demonstrate environmental stewardship, economic vitality and social responsibility.
