Christopher Melnick Wins 16th Annual Gage Scholarship
FERNDALE, Mich. Christopher Melnick, a 2011 graduate of Ferndale High School, is the recipient of Gage Products Companys 16th annual community scholarship award.
The $1,000 Gage scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding Ferndale High School graduate who intends to pursue a degree in engineering. The company established its scholarship program in 1996.
Melnick was a member of Ferndale High Schools soccer, basketball and swim teams. He also participated in the schools marching band and jazz band. Melnick was also a United Student Assembly and National Honor Society member.
Outside of school, he was involved in the Farmington United Percussion Ensemble and a youth group at his church.
The son of Joe and Stephanie Melnick, Christopher will begin classes this fall at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He intends to study bio-medical engineering.
